Find your numbers

Pick your date of birth and both numbers appear at once. The Mulank (Moolank) comes from the day you were born; the Bhagyank comes from the whole date added up.

Your Mulank and Bhagyank

·Mulank (Moolank)Your nature
·BhagyankYour life's direction

Pick your date of birth and both numbers appear here.

For example, born on 28/03/1994: the day gives 2 + 8 = 10 → 1, so Mulank 1 (Sun). Every digit of the date gives 2 + 8 + 0 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 4 = 36 → 9, so Bhagyank 9 (Mars).

Chaldean and Pythagorean numerology

A name is turned into a number with a letter chart, and two charts are in common use. They give the same letter different values, so always say which one a number comes from.

  • Chaldean: letters are grouped by their sound, values run from 1 to 8 and no letter is given 9. In India it is the usual chart for the name number, name correction and business names.
  • Pythagorean: letters follow the order of the alphabet, values run from 1 to 9. Western numerology uses it for the Expression, Soul Urge and Personality numbers.

Questions about numerology

What is numerology?

Numerology is a traditional practice that reads the numbers in your date of birth and your name. Each number from 1 to 9 is linked to a planet and a set of traits. It describes tendencies, not fixed events. For a longer explanation, read what is numerology.

How do I find my numerology number by date of birth?

Add the digits of your day of birth until one digit is left: that is your Mulank (Moolank). Add every digit of the whole date the same way: that is your Bhagyank. Born on 28/03/1994: 2 + 8 = 10 → 1, so Mulank 1; 2 + 8 + 0 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 4 = 36 → 9, so Bhagyank 9.

Which number matters most in Indian numerology?

The Mulank and the Bhagyank come first, and are read together. The name number comes next, because it is the one number you can change. The others, such as the Lo Shu grid and the personal year, add detail.

Chaldean or Pythagorean: which does Namieta use?

For names she reads the Chaldean chart, the one most used in India for the name number and name correction. The calculators also show the Pythagorean numbers where Western numerology uses them, such as the life path and the Expression number.

Can numerology predict my future?

No. It does not foretell events or dates. It shows tendencies: your strengths, what to watch and the kind of year you are in. You still make the choices, so use it for reflection and planning, not as a promise.

What does a numerologist do in a consultation?

A numerologist reads all your numbers together and relates them to the question you bring, such as a name, a career move or a date. Namieta Modi has more than 15 years of practice and gives consultations by video call across India, booked on WhatsApp.
