Which check to use
Already living or working in the place? Start with the house, office or shop check, whichever space you spend the most time in. Looking at somewhere new? Use the plot check for land and the property check for a ready flat or house, before you sign anything. The Kua number adds a personal layer on top of the score: it tells you which directions suit you, so use it to decide where to place your bed head or your desk. Keep a phone compass ready and take readings from the centre of the space.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find the directions in my home?
Stand near the centre of the home with a phone compass, hold it flat and away from metal and electrical items, and note where north points. Then mark each room and the main door by the direction it lies in from the centre.
Is the score the final word on my home’s Vastu?
No. The score compares your answers with the placements most Vastu texts give. It cannot see the exact shape of the plan, any cuts or extensions, or how each room is used, which a look at your floor plan can.
Which check should I use for a flat I want to rent?
Use the property check before you sign, since it asks about the place and its surroundings as well as the layout. Once you have moved in, the house check gives a room by room picture.
Why do people in one family get different Kua numbers?
The Kua number is worked out from the date of birth and is calculated differently for men and women, so members of one home often get different numbers and directions. Each person can use their own good directions for their bed head or desk.
Is anything I enter saved?
No. All six checks run in your browser and nothing you enter is stored.
