How Manglik dosha is checked
- Make the chart. The calculator finds the lagna and the sign of Mars, the Moon and Venus for your birth (sidereal, Lahiri).
- Count Mars’s house from three points: the lagna, the Moon and Venus. Mars in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house from a point counts as Manglik from that point.
- Weigh the result. Manglik from the lagna, or from more than one point, is the stronger case; from one point only is milder.
- Look for cancellations: Mars in its own sign or exalted, the house-and-sign pairs most texts quote, and Jupiter with or aspecting Mars.

Manglik dosha and marriage
Manglik dosha matters mainly when matching two charts. When both partners are Manglik, the dosha is usually treated as matched, and many cancellations soften it further. What is Manglik dosha?
A chart is called Manglik when Mars sits in certain houses: most commonly the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th, counted from the lagna. Many traditions also count from the Moon and from Venus. It is checked mainly for marriage matching.
Can Manglik dosha be cancelled?
Many texts list cancellations: Mars in its own sign (Mesha or Vrishchika) or exalted (Makara), Mars in particular house-and-sign pairs, or Jupiter with or aspecting Mars. When both partners are Manglik, the dosha is usually considered matched. The calculator shows which common cancellations apply.
Why do websites disagree about Manglik dosha?
Traditions differ on the houses (some leave out the 2nd or the 1st), on whether the Moon and Venus count, and on the cancellations. This calculator shows each check separately so you can see why it gives its result.
Do I need my birth time?
For the full check, yes, because the lagna depends on it. Without a time the Moon and Venus checks are still made, which already answers many questions.
Should a Manglik person marry only a Manglik?
