How the office Vastu score is worked out
- Find north with a phone compass from the centre of the office.
- Place each area in one of the eight directions.
- Compare with the traditional placements: the owner in the south-west facing north or east, reception in the north-east, east or north, accounts in the north or south-east, meetings in the north-west, staff facing north or east, pantry and electrics in the south-east, toilets in the north-west or west.
- Score: best 10 points, acceptable 5, avoided 0, as a percentage of the areas your office has.

Where should the owner sit as per Vastu?
Traditionally in the south-west part of the office, with the back to a solid wall and facing north or east. The south-west is linked with stability and authority.
How is the score worked out?
Each answer is compared with the placement most Vastu texts give: the traditional best direction scores 10 points, an acceptable one 5 and an avoided one 0. The percentage is your total out of the maximum for the questions you answered.
Where should the accounts and cash be?
