Gemstone calculator and crystal guide

Find the traditional ratna and crystal linked to the planets of your numbers, then read about each stone before you think of wearing one. A gemstone strengthens its planet, so the calculator is a starting point and the Kundli has the final word.

What each one does

  • GemstoneThe traditional ratna and crystal alternatives for the planets of your Mulank (Moolank) and Bhagyank, from your date of birth.
  • Navratna gemstonesThe nine navratna stones with their planet, finger, metal and substitute, and how a stone is chosen, worn and checked.
  • Crystal guideTwelve crystals, from amethyst to pyrite, with the numbers they are paired with, how they are worn or placed, and how to spot a fake.
  • Manik (ruby)The ratna of the Sun: who it is considered for and how it is worn.
  • Pukhraj (yellow sapphire)The ratna of Jupiter: who it is considered for and how it is worn.
  • Neelam (blue sapphire)The ratna of Saturn, one of the stones worn only after a chart check.
  • Panna (emerald)The ratna of Mercury: who it is considered for and how it is worn.
  • PyriteFool’s gold, commonly kept on a desk or cash counter.
  • AmethystThe purple quartz: what it is linked with, how it is worn and how to spot a fake.

Where to start

Start with the gemstone calculator to see which stones are linked with your numbers. Then open the page for that stone in the navratna guide, which covers who it is traditionally suggested for and who should be careful. If you want something gentler than a ratna, to keep on a desk or wear as a reminder of an intention, the crystal guide is the place to look. Before buying a ratna, have your Kundli checked.

Frequently asked questions

Can I wear the gemstone the calculator shows?

Not on the calculator alone. A ratna strengthens its planet, and a planet that is weak or troublesome in your Kundli can make a stone unsuitable even when it matches your Mulank. Have your chart checked first, especially for blue sapphire, hessonite and cat's eye.

What is the difference between a ratna, an upratna and a crystal?

A ratna is one of the nine main stones, each linked with a planet. An upratna is a substitute stone for the same planet, often milder and easier to find. Crystals are kept or worn as reminders of an intention and are not used in place of a ratna in a chart remedy.

How do I know a stone is natural?

Ask for a report from a recognised gem testing lab, which states whether the stone is natural and whether it has been heated, filled or dyed. The gemstone and crystal guides list what to look for in each stone.

Do crystals heal health problems?

No. Crystals are traditionally used as reminders of an intention, in a room or on the body. They are not medicine, and any health concern needs a doctor.

Can I ask which stones Namieta has?

Yes. Message her on WhatsApp with your date of birth and the stone you are thinking of, and ask what is available after a chart check.
