Where to start
For marriage matching, use Kundli matching when both birth dates and times are known, and Kundli milan by name only when they are not, since a name gives the nakshatra by tradition, not by the sky. Frequently asked questions
Is Kundli milan by name as reliable as matching by date of birth?
No. Matching by date of birth uses the real position of the Moon at birth. Matching by name reads the nakshatra from the first syllable of the name, which is a traditional shortcut. Use the name method when birth details are not known.
What score is a good Guna Milan?
Out of 36, 18 is the usual minimum and higher scores are read as better. The total is only part of it: a Nadi or Bhakoot dosha, and whether it is cancelled, matters as much as the number.
Does a dosha mean something bad will happen?
No. A dosha is a pattern in the chart, and many have cancellations that the tools show. It is a reason to look at the whole chart, not a fixed outcome.
Should I follow the Lal Kitab remedies on my own?
The remedies page lists what Lal Kitab books commonly give, along with the rules for doing them. The Lal Kitab Kundli shows remedies only for planets in their debilitated house. If you are unsure which ones apply to you, ask before you start.
Can the love calculator replace Kundli matching?
