What the card shows
A young man in a tunic patterned with salamanders stands in a desert and looks up at his tall wand, which is sprouting leaves. A feather rises from his hat, and pyramids stand in the distance. He holds the wand as if about to make an announcement.
Page of Wands upright
The Page of Wands is curiosity with fire in it: the beginner who is excited about everything and afraid of very little. Pages are messengers, and this one often brings news that sparks action, such as a call about a course, an invitation to try something, or a new interest that takes hold. The salamanders on his tunic are creatures of fire in old lore. Think of a teenager who discovers photography and borrows every phone camera in the house, or someone who joins a dance class at forty. The card asks you to follow the interest and learn. Skill comes later; for now, the enthusiasm itself is the gift.
Page of Wands reversed
Reversed, the enthusiasm has nowhere to go. Ideas are started and dropped, new hobbies pile up half done, or excitement turns into impatience when results are slow. Sometimes it shows a message that is delayed or news that disappoints. It can also describe someone who talks big and does little. Choose one interest and stay with it for a month. Finishing one small thing builds more confidence than starting ten.
In love and relationships
Playful attraction, flirting, a new crush, or a relationship that feels light and exciting. It can bring a message from someone you like. Reversed, the attraction may be fickle, someone may be unreliable with replies, or the excitement fades fast. Enjoy it, and watch whether the words turn into actions.
In career and study
A new idea, an internship, the start of a course, or a first look at a new field. Good news about a job or project may arrive. Bring energy and ask questions. Reversed, you may be jumping between interests without finishing any, or waiting on news that is slow; focus on one thing.
In money matters
New and untested money ideas: a small side earning, learning how investing works, a first salary. Learn before you put in large amounts. Reversed, impulse spending on new hobbies, or a scheme that sounds exciting but has not been checked.
The card’s advice
Follow your curiosity, and finish one small thing before you start the next.
Yes or no
Page of Wands is commonly read as a “Maybe”. The spark is there, but it needs focus and follow-through to become a clear yes.
These meanings follow the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith deck. A card is always read with its position in the spread and the cards around it, so treat them as starting points, not fixed answers.
