Pisces tarot card: The Moon
Pisces, Meen rashi in Hindi, is the twelfth and last sign, a water sign ruled by Jupiter in traditional astrology (modern Western astrologers add Neptune). It is gentle, imaginative and deeply compassionate, quick to feel what others feel and drawn to music, art and faith. It can also drift when life gets heavy. Its tarot card is The Moon.

Why The Moon is the card of Pisces
The Moon shows a path winding up from a pool, between a dog and a wolf howling at the sky, past two towers and into the hills, while a crayfish climbs out of the water. Everything is lit by moonlight, so nothing is quite what it seems. Pisces moves easily in this world of dreams, intuition and half-light. The card honours that gift and adds a caution: check before you trust every feeling, fear or rumour. Clarity often comes slowly, and it comes by walking the path. The full meaning of The Moon
The three decan cards of Pisces
Pisces closes the suit of Cups. The Eight of Cups (Saturn, roughly 19 to 28 February) shows a man walking away at night from eight stacked cups: leaving what no longer fills the heart. The Nine of Cups (Jupiter, 1 to 10 March) shows a contented man seated before nine cups, and many readers call it the wish card. The Ten of Cups (Mars, 11 to 20 March) shows a family under a rainbow of cups: a happy home. Leaving, contentment and lasting love trace the emotional journey of the sign.
The suit of Pisces
Pisces is a Water sign, so its suit is Cups, the suit of the same element. All the Cups cards
Strengths the cards show
- Compassionate and kind
- Creative and intuitive
- Patient and forgiving
What the cards suggest working on
The Moon card and the Eight of Cups both point to the risk for Pisces: drifting, or quietly walking away instead of saying what is wrong. Empathy without boundaries leaves little energy for your own life. Build a few firm habits, such as a set bedtime, a daily walk and one clear “no” when something does not sit right. Choose one dream and give it a first date on the calendar. Dreams grow when they are given feet.

Questions about Pisces in tarot
Which tarot card is Pisces?
Which tarot suit is Pisces?
Pisces is a Water sign, and Water is the element of the suit of Cups.
Which Minor Arcana cards belong to Pisces?
The Eight of Cups, Nine of Cups and Ten of Cups, one for each 10° part (decan) of the sign, in that order.
Is my tarot sign the same as my Vedic rashi?
Not always. Tarot uses the Western (tropical) zodiac, while Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, which is now about 24° behind it. So anyone born in roughly the first three weeks of a Western sign’s dates usually has the sign before it as their Vedic Sun sign, and the rashi most Indians go by is the Moon sign, which can be different again.
